"Rockie"
|
Hi guys I am Rockie, a 15 year old fitness freak from India.Bodybuilding is my favorite hobby, an year ago just before I started I looked like a skeleton, I wasn't really picked upon in school but I was often made fun of because of my frame. I weighed a mere 105 lbs! That's when I decided to try bodybuilding and I'm hooked on to it ever since. I've been one of the most regulars at the gym and even though I'm the youngest guy lifting weights there, I'm one of the stronger ones. For me all my dedication, motivation and intensity has given me great results, my arms went from 9.5' to almost 15', my weight went from 105 lbs to 151 lbs! not to mention other dramatic gains. Bodybuilding just brings out the real person within you so for those who are not lifting yet no matter what u look like currently you should try bodybuilding, it will revolutionalize your life, trust me. I'm here to help other teenagers like me and hope for their (and my) best. Rockie |

Text here by Ben. And how many of your friends can say they are bodybuilders? None, i bet! Starting early is very beneficial to teens and you've got no idea how much your self esteem can be improved through dedication and training. I started bodybuilding at 15 and have fallen for the sport ever since, it's just great to look great, unfortunately I don't look as great as I used to anymore due to taking time off for medical reasons but I am starting up training this week, you can watch me in my training journal. If you're a teen and you don't want to pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars to join and gym and for supplements and the whole thing take a look at my first two or three articles dealing with training at home. You can still get great results this way! Since this article is a bit hard to see what I'm talking about I'll sum it up in a nutshell... Bodybuilding as a teen is great fun, builds self-esteem, you improve your physique and the way you look and just feel so good about yourself as you are fit, healthy and full of happy and positive energy. If any teens would like to know more about bodybuilding in general or would like some advice, just email me at ben@bodybuilders.com. You must be 16 years or under!! (no lying :P) Thanks, Ben |

Dumbell and barbell exercises with home gear. Bench press, Flying, both flat and at an angle. Front and side dumbell raises. Sit ups / crunches on flat and inclined board. Upright rowing and shrugs. Dumbell and EZ bar curls, inc seated single arm. Lying pull overs at full range. Bent over and single arm rowing. Calf raises using a heel block and weights. Squats with bar and dumbells (Weak knee joints) |
Trained lightly in the 80's and 90's. None at the time the pic was taken. I intend to trim a slightly larger mid section and to boost upper body size in all areas. Age is clearly against me now. All the exercises left will be light weights only to begin with. |

Bigger or simply better toned? |
|
The use of weights can have these two effects. It is not wise for the very young (say early teens) to use heavy weight exercises without careful supervision. This is because it is important to stick very carefully to strict "form" when exercising. Also, heavy exercises are designed to pressure the body into a response, so they DO mean pushing to the limit on the last "rep". If you have no "spotter" you could find yourself in real trouble! |
