The sites here are aimed at the younger guy. A point to keep in mind is that weights are not just to get really huge, but keep you in shape (toned) which is good for you overall.

Physical appearance interests all of us, but takes real effort to maintain. This page refers to bodybuilding, through weights, isotonic and aerobic exercise. Guys tend to use the former, gals the latter. The big danger with weights is to go too hard too soon! Showing off in the gym can be dangerous and actually sometimes it is counterproductive if you strain something! The links here all pointed to good websites, mostly established long before this one.

The pages here will be updated occasionally. They are available here because the Local filter cuts out the alternative as "free server sites" (I pay for them too) sites. See links on the gallery page.

Click any of the links below to access the sites. Mention this page if you like. Any other good site suggestions you make can be included as links. In some cases you may be able to let me set up your page on the site. I can do that for you here. You can post any of your personal pictures here too. See the Forum and guestbook. Feel free to add entries and questions.

Teen Bodybuilding.com Is a subsection of another site, Bodybuilding.com.

Russian Teen Bodybuilders

A site based at Omsk in the centre of Siberia, with many younger trainers. The site has both recent and earlier photo galleries of some of its members, so you can see how they have progressed. Sergei Litvinov (left) was 19 years old at the time of the photo.

The youngest listed are 14. If you DO train at that age, be VERY careful and only use light weights. It is important to do exercises correctly.

Overhead Dumbell Press (see gif below)
Keep torso straight, remember it's a PRESS exercise, that means the movement starts at the bottom i.e. shoulder level then press up, contract, and drop back down to shoulder level again. DON'T clang the weights together like idiots do in the gym, it annoys me and anyone close by, plus it doesn't help you get any better results unless you like being annoying.

Bench "Fly" exercise Start, Finish Pics

Varied angles cover the entire pectoral muscles

Animated exercise illustrations are a good idea, since it is important to keep to "form" when you are doing an exercise, to get the best result. This is NOT being pedantic, it is a fact. The panel to the right is such an animation and it was found at Quadfather.com. That site is now revised

There is a similar source of data with reference to specific sports at the Student Athlete Resource Center The little guy top left is from there!

Natural bodybuilding

Natural Bodybuilding (Second site)

http://muscleindex.topcities.com/

Muscle Web This site is for the more experienced guy, as you can see from the pics posted to the right. They are just two of the guys who have pages there. They are the lighter guys (as far as I can see, because I'm not sure how tall they are! Jason has a very balanced build including calves. (not visible in this shot) Dennis is also in good shape, but don't overdo tattoos.

Dennis

French based site.
Link to Pierre's page.

The pic is of Pierre posing onstage. It is clear that his physique is well balanced, legs included. He has made some gains since that competition.

Corey's Page

Corey here shows a well proportioned upper body, with good definition. Each muscle group can be seen clearly

He also has a good links section on the page. some are also restated here!

Artificial supplements.
Are in many cases a VERY bad idea. They can damage your health, (notably steroids) and can even be fatal. A few do work with the body in a beneficial, near natural way, but as the Quadfather graphic suggests, do you really want to damage your ability to pass on your genetic material? Gains made with "assistance" tend to be hard to retain in any case. There is a lot of info on dietary supplements on the sites listed, and some "medical" opinion too! For a good introductory article see this page by Jay. He covers a routine and good practice. Comments on supplements too.

Site owned by Thorsten. Members pages here

The site owner seems most enthusiastic, and there are contribitions there from several members, which is a great idea. There is also a Yahoo! club for both site members and others. The site is off line for now. See forum here and temporary (I hope) page.

Lee Hayward Site
Lee is a fitness trainer and this appears to be his business website. I say that because there seem to be articles there for a fee.
